Thoughtful Giving

  1. What did you learn from your family about charitable giving as you grew up?
  2. What family traditions, if any, does your family now have regarding charitable giving?
  3. What are the benefits of giving? What do you want/expect in return for your gift?
  4. How do you decide which charities to support, and at what level?
  5. Do you tend to give in response to a person or to a cause?
  6. What factors might influence your giving?
  7. Are you more or less likely to encourage a friend to give to your favorite charity?
  8. Do you make charitable gifts instead of or in addition to more tangible gifts to honor friends' birthdays, other events?
  9. Do you have a plan for charitable giving (such as a pre-determined percentage of your income) or do you give "as the spirit moves you?"
